A.C Grayling, a leading academic in Philosophy and on Brexit, told an audience at Birmingham City University that “Remain is like Space Invaders, with more and more people joining the cause!”
A.C. Grayling was talking at Birmingham City University as part of their ‘City Talks‘ series.
Grayling was talking about the potential ramifications of Brexit, from legal action against the triggering of ‘Article 50‘, to a potential second referendum.
The academic is a pro-remain campaigner and began his talk with an assertion of that fact:

The talk covered a broad range of issues surrounding Brexit, from the European Union act passed in 2011, to the potential impact of the vote in the next 5-10 years.
He talked to Birmingham Eastside before the event about his career to date:
“In fact, my world view influenced me into getting into freelance journalism, because it provides a very good way of getting a message out there.”
He also discussed the major influences on his career, including 19th Century writer William Hazlitt :
“He (Hazlitt) realised after he’d written a couple of books that nobody read, because they had difficult words like marmalade and corrugated iron, he recognised that the way to be a part of the conversation was to be a journalist. So I thought I’d take a leaf out of his book!”.
His concluding remarks looked to the future impact of Britain’s potential trade deals with leading world economies, including China.
