The Chief Fire Officer of West Midlands Fire Service has died.
Wayne Brown was found dead at his home yesterday morning (24th January).
The chair of West Midlands Fire and Rescue Authority, Greg Brackenbridge, said: “All our thoughts and love are with his family, his friends and his colleagues.
“We ask everyone that his family and his colleagues are given time and space at this tragic time.”
West Midlands Police say his death is not being treated as suspicious.
It comes after the fire service confirmed it was aware of reports about the status of Mr Brown’s qualifications.
