Guide Dogs in Birmingham, Make a Wish, Royal British Legion and Birmingham Children’s Hospital are among the groups to benefit from more than £41,000 in donations from Cadbury World.

The money was raised by visitors using donation locations situated around the attraction and through staff fundraising events throughout 2022.

Funding from The Cadbury Foundation also contributed to the sum handed over to a total of 19 charities,

Michelle Darragh, assistant visitor services manager and community champion at Cadbury World, nominated Guide Dogs in Birmingham as one of the charities to support throughout the year.

It’s fantastic to see how donations can help to fund and support an incredible charity like Guide Dogs for the Blind,” Michelle said.

“For charities that rely almost entirely on public donations, such as Guide Dogs for the Blind, continuing to help and support is so important.”

Other groups to benefit include Special Needs Adventure Playground (SNAP), a Cannock-based charity supporting young people with disabilities to join in with the types of play others may take for granted.

Cadbury World’s operations manager Tim Gimbert nominated the group as one of the charities to support, with the funds helping to continue providing a safe play area for children and adults with special needs.

“For an independent charity such as SNAP, contributions of any size will make an incredible difference and help them enhance their facilities for local community groups,” Tim said.

“I’m delighted that we were able to help the charity throughout the year and that with our efforts, SNAP can continue to deliver its fantastic support for so many people.”
