So sorry to hear about the passing of Ed Doolan. As a radio-loving youngster, Ed was one of my heroes. The voice of Birmingham in the 1970s and 1980s, he is another genuine legend we have lost. Thoughts with his family, friends and former colleagues.

Really sad news. Been announced that legendary Midlands radio presenter Ed Doolan has died. Grew up listening to him in Bham, and was lucky enough to work alongside him briefly at @BBCWM. Such a wonderful broadcaster, who had a brilliant relationship with his listeners #EdDoolan pic.twitter.com/lVNGfeeLrR
