Solihull Moors claimed a Football League scalp in pre-season as they saw off Walsall in a friendly encounter.
It was the Saddlers who started the brighter with Mazaik Kouhyar showing swift feet to rifle past home keeper Nathan Vaughan with just three minutes on the clock.
Walsall continued to look lively after opening the scoring as Simeon Jackson saw an effort well-saved.
Solihull began to grow into the game but failed to find an equaliser before the break.
The Football League side made a raft of changes at half-time, but it didn’t appear to unsettle them too much as Joe Edwards volleyed wide.
But Moors weathered the storm and finally clawed their way back into the game when debutant Jermaine Hylton was quickest to react after Jack Edwards’ header had come back off the bar.
Hylton’s day was to get even better as he netted a second with half-an-hour left on the clock.
Walsall hit back through Joe Edwards, but it was Solihull who would have the last laugh as Joel Kettle secured the win late on.
