A 22-year-old man from Birmingham, who is serving in the British Army has been arrested alongside three other men under anti-terror laws in relation to being members of a banned neo-Nazi group called National Action.
The British Army responded saying that, it was not directly involved in the operation but are supporting the police. Speaking earlier, a press officer said, “This is now the subject of a civilian police investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
The men, who can’t be named for legal reasons were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000; specifically, on suspicion of being members of a proscribed organisation, National Action.
National Action, which is a British based neo-Nazi group was banned last December when Home Secretary Amber Rudd MP said they promoted violence and hatred.
The other men, also serving in the army are aged between 24 and 32. All four men are currently being held by West Midlands Police.
