A police car has been damaged after a brick was thrown from a motorway bridge.

The patrol car was passing under the M6 motorway bridge on the northbound side at junction seven for Great Barr at 11am on 24th November when the incident happened.

Officers were also alerted to a van having a steel peg thrown through the window in the same location on the following day.

Sergeant Sarah Phillips said: “These were two very dangerous incidents and we believe they are linked.

“Fortunately no-one was hurt but we need to find the person responsible for this.

“We are currently investigating and looking at CCTV and we urge people to check their dash cams.

“We will be working with our neighbourhood policing units over the next few days and increasing patrols to prevent further offences.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident 20/982879/22.
