A man accused of raping and assaulting a woman has been jailed for 15 years. Andrew Brueton repeatedly raped the woman during a 2 and a half year period between December 2014 and June 2017.
The 38-year-old of Merritts Brook Lane, Northfield, has been convicted of five counts of rape and five counts of assault and was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court.
The victim is being hailed to have shown tremendous courage in reporting the crime.

Detective Constable Kirsty Gray, of the public protection unit, called it a brave move on part of the victim and how reporting the incident had helped them arrest the offender.
