Four people have been arrested as part of a police crackdown on drugs and firearms in Birmingham.

Two men, aged 28 and 25, were detained after officers stopped and searched a vehicle in Small Heath at 9.40pm Friday (July 21st). Drugs were recovered from the vehicle in Camelot Way and both men have been released pending further investigations.

On the same day officers also stopped a vehicle in Bevington Road, Aston and found CS gas inside.

Two men, aged 31 and 34, were arrested for firearm offences.

Superintendent Mat Shear said: “Our priority is to protect members of the community from people who carry weapons or commit crime.”
