Four men have been arrested after a number of vehicles suspected of being stolen were recovered in Birmingham.

Police swooped after a car tracker which had been taken from a hotel car park on Saturday night (22nd January) was traced to a car park on Ralph Road in Saltley.

A Seat Leon travelling with the stolen Hyundai i20 drove off after spotting officers, but was later stopped on Alum Rock Road where the occupants – men aged 29, 23 and two aged 19 – were taken into custody on suspicion of stealing motor vehicles.

Police also found keys to six more suspected stolen vehicles parked in Ralph Road and recovered 23 stolen number plates.

Inspector Shameem Ahmed, from West Midlands Police, said: “This was great work by our team of officers from the Hodge Hill neighbourhood team.

“We have seized seven suspected stolen vehicles and made four arrests in the process.”
