Former Birmingham City midfielder Jude Bellingham bagged his first international goal as England beat Iran in the World Cup.
The Borussia Dortmund star netted the first as England romped to a 6-2 win.
The 19-year-old said he was delighted to get off the mark for the Three Lions.
“It’s a really proud moment,” he said. “I’ve wanted to score more goals for Dortmund and England last year and to get in the right position but it’s a really good day for us.
“Six goals in a World Cup game is really impressive, regardless of who you play against.”
Another player with links to the region was also on target with Jack Grealish netting after coming on as a second half sub in the game.
