A controversial event targeting the legal cannabis and hemp industry is coming to Birmingham.

Traders, speakers, musicians and political activists will attend the Product Earth Expo on September 2nd and 3rd in Digbeth.

It is the third year the event has taken place and will feature stalls offering hemp-related products.

Sarah Smith, from the Product Earth Expo, said Digbeth’s reputation as having “strong countercultural roots” made it an ideal location for the event.

“I feel we’ve picked a great location that’s full of culture and creativity,” she said. “Digbeth is a really vibrant area and the community is so friendly and forward-thinking.”

Last year’s event took place in Peterborough and organisers hope the move to Birmingham will continue to attract visitors.

Sarah added: “We really listened to the feedback we got after last year’s expo and have tried hard to give visitors what they want by inviting some amazing music artists and guest speakers.

“We believe now is the time that the legalisation of cannabis, especially medicinal cannabis, should be seriously considered.

“Public debate is growing and, there are a number of compelling reasons why this discussion should happen.

“Product Earth Expo plays an important role in providing educational opportunities and this year’s event will bring together a bigger hemp community than ever before.

“It will be an inspiring weekend in a vibrant industry, filled with entertainment, seminars, talks, business opportunities and much more.”
