The men who held a 14 year old girl captive for 5 days and forced her to have sex with 20 men have been sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court today.

After a drawn out case that began in 2015, the men were given a combined sentence of 18 years. Jake Cairns was sentenced to 8 years in prison for arranging and facilitating child sexual exploitation and distributing indecent images of children. Brandon Sharples and Jack McInally were both given 5 years for facilitating child exploitation.

The 14 year old girl went missing from her home in 2015.  Cairns gave her drugs and told her that she had to pay off her debt with prostitution. The men were arrested after naked pictures of the girl were found on an online trafficking website.

Detective Constable Jon Barker called the exploitation case ‘shocking’, stating that the men  ‘took advantage of her drug dependency and made money out of forcing her to have sex with strangers’.
