Aston Villa’s new manager has called for consistency after seeing his side beat Manchester United in his first game in charge.

Goals from Leon Bailey, Lucas Digne and Jacob Ramsey helped them pick up the win against the Red Devils.

It marked a dream start for new boss Unai Emery, but he has insisted he wants to ensure his side can provide more of the same going forward.

“I enjoyed it a lot today,” he told the club website. “We were so focussed on our game plan.

“It’s only one step and we have to achieve regularity and we have to achieve being consistent in the next matches – at home and away.

“We have a lot of work to do.”

Villa’s next test will also be against Manchester United as they travel to Old Trafford in the League Cup on Thursday.
