Police have released a CCTV image of a man who set fire to a car used as a getaway vehicle in a Birmingham shooting.

The grey Audi A4 was torched on Adderley Road on July 4th. The vehicle – registration OU03 HGA – had been stolen two days earlier from Bordesley Green.

On July 3rd it was used as the getaway car in the attempted murder of a 33-year-old man who was shot in the chest on Arthur Street in Small Heath.

Qasim Hussain, aged 25, of no fixed address, has been charged with wounding and possession of a firearm. Suliman Mohammed, also aged 25 from Whitmore Road, Birmingham, was charged with the same offences plus two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after heroin and crack cocaine were seized from his address.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “The man caught on CCTV torching the vehicle used in the shooting is neither Hussain nor Mohammed, and we are now urgently appealing to trace this individual.”
