Annalene Beechley will play the role of Anna, while Jose Llana will reprise his role in the Broadway hit when it visits The Alexandra Theatre from 10th December to 4th January.

The show will also be heading to Tokyo, Taiwan, Zurich, Sydney and Singapore during the tour.

Jose said: “After playing the King on Broadway and all over the USA this role has such a special place in my heart, so to be able to tour the beautiful UK and see so many of your incredible cities like Birmingham is really exciting for me.”

Annalene added: “I absolutely love playing Anna – she is a dream role for any actress.

“I’m delighted to bring this wonderful production and our glorious King to the Midlands.”

Set in 1860s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and British schoolteacher Anna Leonowens.
