Birmingham woman charged over series of distraction burglaries


A Birmingham woman has been charged after a series of distraction burglaries.

Derrol Flynn, 45 of Kitts Green Road in Kitts Green, is accused of posing as a police officer and using a fake ID made from a SIM card holder and a shoe lace to to trick her way into homes of women aged between 60 and 98.

She has been charged with four counts of burglary, four attempted burglaries and one attempted robbery.

It’s alleged she stole £600 from a couple in Paddock Road, Hollywood, on May 26th, small sums of cash from homes in Masshouse Lane, Kings Norton, and Quinton’s Edenhall Road on June 18th and 25th, and thousands from a 98-year-old Bournville woman on June 26th.

She’s also accused of trying to steal from properties in Dorsington Road, Olton, Hillmount Close, Hall Green, and Heath Way in Shard End on June 25th, along with an address on Fairfax Road, West Heath, the following day.

Flynn also faces one count of attempting to rob a woman of her handbag at the Dorsington Road address. She will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on November 29th.
