Nat Wraith, Millie Taylor and Amuruthaa Surenkumar

Three new signings have bolstered the ranks of Bears Women.

Wicketkeeper Nat Wraith has moved to Warwickshire from Western Storm, while promising teenagers Millie Taylor and Amuruthaa Surenkumar arrive from Southern Vipers Academy and Sunrisers, respectively.

Wraith had a standout year for her previous side last year and has also been a regular in The Hundred for the likes of Welsh Fire, London Spirit and Trent Rockets.

The 22-year-old said: “I’m really excited to meet everyone and be part of a new environment.

“I’m hearing lots of good things about the Bears and the positivity around the camp going into our first season together. It’s an exciting time to join such a big club.

“I can’t wait to get to Birmingham and get stuck in.”

England Under-19s all-rounder Surenkumar, was part of Sunrisers’ Academy from 2021-23 before making her senior debut in July 2023.

The 17-year-old medium pace bowler made an impressive start to her professional career when, aged 16, she scored 25 and took 2-44 against Southern Vipers in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

Sussex-born Taylor, a 19-year-old spinning all-rounder, has been a leading wicket taker for Vipers Academy and in July returned figures 5-10 against Lancashire Thunder Academy.

Bears head of women’s cricket, Laura MacLeod, said: “Nat has had an impressive season, scoring plenty of runs at a good average.

“She was one of few domestic players to bat in the top four in The Hundred – Trent Rockets backed her to play with positive intention.

“She will strengthen our top order batting, with plenty of power and potential, as well as providing competition for the wicketkeeping position.

“And in Millie and Amu I think we have two of the most promising teenagers around. Amu has already toured with England Under-19s.

“Millie is a rare find in the women’s game: a left arm leg spinner. She will add depth and variety to an exciting group of spinners.”
