A Birmingham business is backing a boat taking part in a race branded “the world’s toughest row”.
The Worcester Buoys team will take part in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge in December to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
George Farmiloe and Matt Bladen will row 3,000 miles in around 40 days, heading from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the Caribbean
Their efforts have been backed by sponsorship from Birmingham-based print and signage firm Hollywood Monster.
George said: “We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Hollywood Monster for their invaluable support and everyone who has pledged to support our cause. We look forward to having as many individuals and organisations join us in this incredible journey.”
The pair will row in shifts of two hours throughout the challenge, with people able to follow their progress at www.worcesterbuoys.com
Simon McKenzie, CEO at Hollywood Monster, said: “We are proud to stand alongside the Worcester Buoys as they take on this extraordinary challenge to support Acorns Children’s Hospice.
“Their commitment to this noble cause exemplifies the power of community and the dedication to making a difference in the lives of children and families in need.”
