The Baggies are set to agree a transfer for the Huddersfield Town striker before the EFL deadline.

West Bromwich Albion look set to finalise a deal for Huddersfield forward Karlan Grant.

Slaven Bilić’s side have been linked with the ex-Charlton man for a number of weeks and appear to have made a breakthrough in their pursuit, according to a Football Insider report.

Grant impressed for the Terriers last season, scoring 19 goals in 43 league appearances in the EFL Championship. The Englishman signed for Huddersfield under David Wagner with the club still in the top-flight.

Progressing through Charlton’s academy, Grant made the step up to the Premier League in 2019. However, it was following the Terriers’ inevitable relegation that the Greenwich-born forward began tearing it up.

West Brom’s previous moves for the striker had stalled but it looks as if an agreement is close and the transfer, worth an estimated £16million, should be made before the EFL deadline next Friday.

With the newly-promoted side set to miss out on Bournemouth’s Josh King, according to Birmingham Mail, Grant could be the man to ease the burden on West Brom’s attack and help them to a first Premier League win of the season.
