Walsall Wood manager Harry Harris says his side were “brilliant” in the past season.

The Wood went on a five game unbeaten streak, four of which were wins, to achieve a 6th placed finish in the Midland Football League.

Harris praised his players, saying: “We’ve done really well to finish 6th.

“The lads have been brilliant for me since I took over in October and the back end of the season you could see we had settled and gelled as a team, you could see that in the performances.”

In a tremendous final day game, Walsall beat second placed Boldmere St Michaels, claiming a 3-0 victory at BBG Stadium Oak Park.

And Harris is already looking ahead to the transfer window and the new season:

“In the off season I want to add two, maybe three players to what we have here and I think that would be me sorted going into the new season.”

Walsall Wood fans will be hoping their side can build on this finish in the start of next season, but Harris says he has no real plans apart from to:

“… take every game as it comes …and enjoy every game.”
