Top American comedian Carmen Lynch; and Leicester funny man Tharun Chelley are set to take part in an online fundraising gig for Cancer Research UK next Friday evening (April 9th).

Lynch has wowed audiences from New York to Edinburgh; and has been featured on numerous top-ranking American TV shows including ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’; ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’; and Conan O’Brien.

The event is being organised by Birmingham City University MA Events Management student Martina Greatrex. She’s thrilled to have both Carmen and Tharun on board.

“We are sure to get a few much needed laughs from both Carmen and Tharun this Friday night,” she said.

“It’s amazing that both of them have made themselves available for our fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK.

“Tickets are sure to go fast, and we have a great evening of entertainment in prospect, with a competition also for some prizes sponsored by ‘Lots of Love’ on the night.”

Greatrex also says it was a ‘no-brainer’ to host an event for charity, and says that Cancer research is a very important cause.

“I always believed that charities are a channel for people to support other people, and we never know when we will need the help and support that charities offer,” she said.

“In exchange for your support, you will be able to enjoy a top-class comedy gig, and you will find out more about Cancer Research UK and their life-saving research.

The event, will also see BCU Media Production student Abi Rayner speak about the vital work being done by Cancer Research UK; and a little bit of history about the charity.

Tickets for the event cost £6 and are available at the link below. For those who are unable to attend on the night, but purchase a ticket; a recording will be made available.
