Stafford Town’s manager says he is delighted to have finally got his man after bringing in youngster Reece Nunn on a dual registration until the end of the season.
The midfielder has joined from Chasetown after making his debut for them back in December and putting together a number of good performances for their under 23 side.
The North West Counties League Division One South side currently sit 12th in the table, six points from the playoff places, and will certainly hope that their new man will help the side in their quest for a top half placement.
Stafford Town manager Adam Wall said: “Reece is someone I’ve been aware of for 12 months.
“After a failed attempt to sign him on loan last year, our improved status and ever growing relationship with Chasetown has helped me secure Reece for the remainder of the season.
“Our captain Callum Wood is our ball winning midfielder, but is the only one of that type I had.
“With Woody having an injury of his own we needed to add a bit more steel to our midfield.
“He has been brought in to help break the play up and offer us more opportunities to turn the ball over.”
Stafford face promotion contenders Stockport Town at 3pm tomorrow with their new man likely to be in action in front of the home fans.
“Reece will go straight into tomorrow’s squad to face Stockport” Wall said. “It’s a huge game and one we have to be perfect in to get anything.
“Our aims are to finish in the top half of the league and be as close to playoffs as possible, ready to build again next season.
“Whatever happens, we have already bettered last season.”
Stafford managed a 0-0 draw away from home in the reverse fixture of August last year. A win tomorrow (17th February) could take them as high as ninth if other results go their way.
