Birmingham City University graduate Amber Griffith took the Royal Television Society (RTS) Midlands Student Award for Writing at last night’s awards ceremony at the Birmingham Rep.

The award was given for ‘A Voice Not Mine‘, a moving dramatic monologue written and produced by Amber for her final project in her Media degree last year.

The television drama is based on Amber’s own experiences of coping with the condition obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). You can watch the short film above.

The Royal Television Society Midlands Awards is a prestigious event, and due to the increasing scale of the event this was the first year that the Student Awards have been hosted separately to the industry Awards.
