The Kitchen Garden Cafe frequently hosts unique live music nights

It’s been established for around 15 years and besides offering live music events, they also have a cafe, garden shop, arts and crafts workshops and also hire out for events such as weddings. The jewel in the crown of Kings Heath….The Kitchen Garden Cafe.
There’s a bar next door in partnership with them called Fletchers, which also host open mic and DJ nights, as well as gigs on a Sunday afternoon. They make money on the bar, instead of charging an entry fee.
It started off with more traditional music being played in a space upstairs, but – as the business progressed, they started booking acts which became more famous, so they could charge entry fees.
Folk music is their speciality. Americana mainly. Bob Dylan tribute acts and the like, go down well too. The acts are a mix of local, national and some of international acts.
The events usually sell out especially the more well-known artists/bands, the tickets are reasonably priced and often have to book in advance. Most events are Sunday to Thursday evenings and target people the 30+ age range of customer.

Talking with Alison Howell, Shop Supervisor at The Kitchen Garden Cafe she told me “It is a small venue for live music which gives it a nice intimate feel to the place, it is also very unique and different to many other places as we offer food and garden shop.”
“When attending a gig at the Kitchen Garden Cafe you get seats which are suited more to the age range of the audiences who attend the shows. It’s also a great place to network and talk to people and artists whereas other places are rather noisy and you cannot hear much.”
If you are a fan of folk and traditional music then this place might just be for you. For more information go to https://www.kitchengardencafe.co.uk/
