Birmingham’s Original Patty Men has been recognised in the Observer Monthly Food Awards this month, having been awarded Runner-Up in the Best Cheap Eats category.
The category shortlists restaurants across the country that fall into the under-£15 prince band.
Original Patty Men is the only eatery from the West Midlands to be nominated in the awards.
Tom Maher and Scott O’Byrne, the brains behind the burgers, say they are delighted with the award:
“It makes us feel sassy as hell. Setting out with a goal in mind, and then being recognised for achieving that goal is a great feeling.”
The winner of the award for Best Cheap Eats was Bia Rebel, a Japanese/Irish collaboration in Belfast. Other categories include Best Place to Drink, Best Sunday Lunch and Best New Cookbook.
