    National Basketball League fixtures delayed

The start of the NBL (National Basketball League) season has had its problems, and this isn’t stopping any time soon.

The fixtures for the upcoming season have already been released to the clubs but they have not been made public yet on either the NBL website or the club’s websites.

A specific start date for the season is yet to be announced, but it has been decided that there will be no promotion or relegation this season.

This means that team Birmingham Elite men and women will stay in division two. City of Birmingham Rockets and Birmingham Mets will both stay in division three.

Depending on what happens in the coming months there may have to be adjustments made.

Basketball England CEO, Stewart Kellett, said: “Clubs have to be resilient, flexible and respectful of government guidelines.”

Earlier in September it was announced that the National Cup would be cancelled for the 2020/2021 season, this will free up space for any rescheduled games to be played if needed.

Of the five teams taking a one-year sabbatical none of them are from Birmingham.
