It was a successful night for Midlands players on international duty.

The standout player was West Brom winger Kamil Grosicki, who managed to score a hat-trick in a 5-1 victory for Poland.

The 32-year-old had been close to leaving the Baggies on Deadline Day. However, his stellar performance on the international stage may push him firmly into Slaven Bilic’s plans for the season.

Elsewhere, Wolves winger Adama Traore made his international debut for Spain.

The 24 year-old came on for the last 30 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Portugal, who fielded four of his Wolves teammates. His impact drew praise from Spain manager Luis Enrique.

Speaking to the media after the game, Enrique said: ” Adama has been Adama in his purest form.”

“That is what we want him to be, with his ability to beat opponents. He has played a killer pass to Dani Olmo that did not lead to a goal.”

It was more good fortune for Wolves last night striker Raul Jiminez scoring for his country.

The Mexican striker scored the only goal in his country’s impressive 1-0 win against Holland.
