A homeless charity in Birmingham is seeking new volunteers.

Based in Birmingham’s city centre, Homeless One has been distributing food for the homeless community every night since starting eight years ago.

The leading charity has gained support over the years with brands like Greggs, Tesco, and Asda.

They have had collaborations with Youth Zone Project, a centre that specialises in young people’s wellbeing and helping their community.

The charity needs more volunteers as they are now opened seven nights a week.

It usually takes five to seven staff to help during weekdays, however more help is needed during the busier weekends.

Lead volunteer Moe Nawaz said: “Volunteers were reluctant to come help coming out of lockdown which led to a significant decrease in our numbers.

“Only now are we beginning to the number of volunteers go back up.”

The non- profitable organisation is now prioritising their social media accounts to help entice volunteers.

“With the help of good people willing to help we are able to achieve great things by helping out the less fortunate,” said Nawaz.
