Half of Wolves’ senior Portuguese stars have been featured in their national squad ahead of the international break.
Five of Wolves’ ten Portuguese players have been announced as part of Portugal’s international squad for approaching matches against Spain, France and Sweden.
Wide-man Daniel Podence, who is yet to be capped by Fernando Santos’ side, is one of the quintet named in Portugal’s international plans, as unveiled today.
Veteran goalkeeper Rui Patrício is also included and could be set to push his way into his nation’s list of top ten all-time appearance makers.
New recruit Nélson Semedo – a £27.5m full-back from signed from Barcelona – has also been picked as well as the Black Country side’s midfield partnership of Rúben Neves and João Moutinho.
“Daniel Podence in line to win his first senior cap. Well deserved after a good few months. If he overcomes the injury which kept him out of the West Ham game, of course.”

The Black Country side is known for its close connection with Portuguese players after hiring ex-Valencia and Porto boss Nuno Espírito Santo in 2017.
The stars will line up with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes in UEFA Nations League qualifiers after a friendly against neighbours Spain on 7 October.
