Gary Gardner and Lukas Jutkiewicz were on target as Birmingham City made it ten league games unbeaten.
The 2-1 win over Reading saw Blues climb to ninth in the Championship table, just a point off the play-off places.
Gardner fired home four minutes into the second half before Jutkiewicz headed home 20 minutes from time.
Yakou Meite grabbed a late consolation fro Reading, but Blues held on to claim all three points.
“It’s now three wins in a row and ten unbeaten in any league is a hard thing to do,” Birmingham manager Garry Monk said.
