Credit – Birmingham City Council As part of their clean air Hydrogen bus pilot, Birmingham City Council have purchased 20 new hydrogen double-decker buses to be introduced in April 2021. These buses are mainly powered by an electric powertrain where the fuel cells convert the chemical energy of hydrogen into electrical energy. The chemical element is stored in compressed tanks, typically on the roof of the bus. Hydrogen buses are usually classed as ‘zero emission capable’. A single mother opens up about her fears and struggles during lockdown When Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced school closures due to the pandemic, Murielle Cho a 30-year-old single mother experienced mixed emotions. A bitter sweet experience of a mother who gave birth during COVID A 24-year old teacher from East London, has had a bittersweet experience giving birth to her first child during this pandemic.    Makala Christian-Gillin, went into labour on April 7 at 7am, and during this time she made several trips to Newham University Hospital, but she was turned away.
