Aston Villa have completed the signing of midfielder Douglas Luiz from Manchester City.
http://gty.im/1158413554The Brazilian has spent spells on loan in Europe during his time at the Etihad Stadium after being unable to get a work permit.
But a sizeable fee and his chances of first team football at Villa Park are believed to have resolved the issues for Dean Smith’s side.
Luiz joins a lengthy list of incoming signings ahead of the club’s return to the Premier League and he believes he will shine in the top flight of English football.
““I hope I can be a leader in the team,” Luiz told AVTV. “I hope I can help by bringing the ball out from the back and, although I don’t speak a lot of English, I hope I can help out by shouting orders from the back and live up to all the expectations as best as I can.
“I hope we have a great season and win a lot of games.
“Right now I’m confident in saying that, God willing, I can shine in the Premier League.”
