West Bromwich Albion youngsters off to a winning start in the Checkatrade Trophy


West Bromwich Albion’s youngsters got their Checkatrade Trophy campaign off to a winning start with a 2-1 triumph at Blackpool.

The Baggies’ under 21 side took the lead early in the game after Finn Azaz netted following good work from Oliver Burke.

Jonathan Leko hit the bar as Albion looked to extend their lead.

But it was Blackpool who were next to trouble the scoresheet as a Steven Davies header levelled the game.

Alex Bradley ensured Albion got off to a winning start in the competition when he fired home from outside the box.
