Communities across Birmingham have come together to celebrate Diwali.

The Hindu Festival of Light celebration took place on 20th October in Victoria Square.

Hundreds turned up for the celebration, which was hosted by the West Midlands Mayor Andy Street. It featured traditional music and dance routines, authentic asian food and arts and crafts.

Birmingham Eastside spoke to King Gucharan from Indian band The Dhol Blasters to find out about the importance of cultural and religious events such as Diwali in the Birmingham calendar.
