The curtain has gone up on The Alexandra theatre in Birmingham after a £650,000 refurbishment project.

A new facade was created as part of the work at the theatre, which was built in 1901. It was originally sited on Station Street, where the venue’s Stage Door and Access entrance are now located.

A bridge extension was built in 1968 linking this to the current entrance on Suffolk Street Queensway.

The new look was unveiled in time for the opening night of West End hit Motown the Musical yesterday (11th October).
