Aston Villa Supporters Trust member Mo Razzaq is pleased with the progress his club have made in their second season back in the top-flight.
Villa currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League, after only surviving on the final day of the previous season.
Mo Razzaq, the Club Liaison Officer at the Trust, has been impressed by what he has seen this season and said: “There’s been progress made. We’re more solid defensively.”
The Birmingham outfit have had a really good season defensively, with only Manchester City keeping more clean sheets then them.
This is a complete contrast to last season, where they had one of the leakiest defences in the division.
“This is a gradual project that the manager and owners have signed up to,” added Mr Razzaq.
“As long as there’s progress, I think most fans will be happy.”
That has been the story for Villa, who are steadily improving season on season under Head Coach Dean Smith.
Mr Razzaq, while pleased with the progress of his team, was keen to see some new additions to help see them push on further.
“It’s more in the attacking field; a winger and a striker
“We’ve got Trezeguet who’s out and we’ve got Wesley who’s due to come back but still a bit of an unknown quantity.”
While looking to the future, he still made the point to highlight how good this season has been.
“It has obviously petered out a little bit in the last few months but in terms of context of where we have come from I’d probably a 6.5/7.”
