Midlands motorists have faced a morning of delays after a set of temporary traffic lights caused rush hour chaos.
Contractors working on a building site are believed to have put in the measures which led to lengthy tailbacks on all routes around the M42 Junction 9 island.
We believe the cause of the congestion may be due to temporary traffic lights near to Hams Hall Distribution Park, just off the #A446 Lichfield Road. Please allow extra time if travelling in the area this morning.

Some motorists reported being stuck in tailbacks for more than two hours.

A spokesperson for Highways England said: “We are continuing to liaise with local contractors to see if we can get the temporary traffic lights removed or switched off to alleviate the severe congestion.”
