Birmingham City FC manager Garry Monk says his side’s clash with Stoke City will be another chance to test themselves against the best the Championship has to offer.

The Potters had a sluggish start to the season and find themselves in 14th place after a recent upturn in form.

But Blues could move above Stoke in the table with a win.

“They’re one of the favourites if not the favourite – and quite rightly considering the squad that they have,” Monk told the club’s website.

“This season when we’ve played against teams that are promotion favourites or promotion candidates we’ve acquitted ourselves very well.

“This is another challenge and another opportunity to do exactly like that.

“We want to show the same again this weekend.”
