Benjamin Torrens, the bass guitarist in the band, said: “It’s been a cause that we’re all really passionate about. It’s prestigious and something that everyone believes in, the message is something you can’t deny.”

Torrens added that they were honoured to be headlining the event: “For them (LMHR) to come to our last couple of shows is an honour and a privilege. But for them to ask us to headline is mad, we’re so behind the movement!”

There will be live music and politics at the event, which features a plethora of local, home-grown talent.

Sharon Campion, the organiser of the event, told BirminghamEastside about the response they’ve had: “It’s very easy to get fans on board – in fact, we’ve had too many people interested and we’ve actually had to turn some away.”

Love Music Hate Racism is a campaign that was launched in 2002 and artists such as Kasabian, Ms Dynamite and Lethal Bizzle have all performed at their music events.

Doors open at 7pm for the event tonight. Tickets are £8 for adults.
