The Aldridge Social Club taken from Google Maps Funding has been given to a local village in Walsall to be able to install better cycling and walking facilities. The money — for public cycle parking and improvements to wayfinding and accessibility in the village centre — comes from a £2 million project which was launched in May by the Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, inviting communities across the West Midlands to submit ideas to improve their local area for cycling and walking. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) has launched a new campaign to tackle a “horse crisis” that is putting equine charities and sanctuaries under strain. The ‘Adoptober’ campaign is running throughout this month to promote adoption for some of the animals in their care.
