Aston Villa Ladies have announced that they will be playing their home games in Boldmere from next season.
In a statement on their official website, they said:
“Following the FA announcement that Aston Villa Ladies have been awarded a Women’s Super League licence for the 2018/19 season, the club are pleased to announce they will be playing their home games at Boldmere St Michaels FC from next season.“
The team will return to play at the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, following 5 years away from the stadium.

It brings the team back into Birmingham, as Commercial Director of Boldmere St Michaels FC, Dave Travers told Birmingham Eastside: “We’ve always had them (AVFC Ladies) on the radar, and once we had the facilities, we wanted to bring them back. ”
They had been playing in Tamworth, with Aston Villa season ticket holders able to watch the Ladies’ games for free.
Dave said he is hoping that this will bring more fans to the Boldmere club: “They had quite a loyal fanbase here before, and with the women’s game on the up, I think there will be bigger crowds now, especially with bringing the club back into Birmingham.”
With the England women’s team reaching consecutive semi-finals, and media interest in the sport increasing, the club are hoping to integrate the next generation of female footballers.
“We’re starting our Boldmere St Michaels girls teams up,” Dave said. “Hopefully we can push some of those girls on into Aston Villa’s team and long term get some of them into a Women’s Super League 2 team.”
Aston Villa Ladies will begin their 2018/19 season at their new home in September. The club are currently 9th in the division with a large part of the season still to play.
