Police are appealing for witnesses after reports of two men who assaulting a woman in Handsworth.

Officers were called at 7am on Wednesday (26th September) after reports of the incident taking place outside St Mary’s Church.

Two men were arrested near the scene, but have since been released pending further investigation.

Detective Sergeant Laura Harrison said: “Nobody has come forward to report an assault on them, but we want to make sure the woman is okay.

“We are treating this as an isolated incident and ask that you talk to us if you were in the area at the time and saw any suspicious behaviour. It could really help with our investigation.”
