The price of the cheapest 10% of houses in the West Midlands has gone up by one fifth in the past five years, according to government figures.
New data by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that in 2022/23 the cheapest 10% of houses in the West Midlands went up to a maximum of £129,950.
Five years earlier the cheapest 10% of houses went up to a maximum of £108,000.
The poorest 10% of people had to pay 11 times their household income for 10% cheaper houses in the year ending 2022/23.
Five years earlier they had to pay nine times their household income.
