Police have released CCTV in a bid to find a key witness to a Quinton crash that left a teenage motorcyclist dead.

A white van was seen in the area on the night of Sunday, 9th September, before and after Ellis Haarhoff’s motorbike hit a tree on Wolverhampton Road.

The 18-year-old died of his injuries the following morning.

PC Mark Crozier said they believe the van turned into Hagley Road towards Quinton at around the time the crash happened at 11.45pm.

“We are determined to find out exactly what occurred in the build-up to the bike hitting the tree,” he said.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Ellis at this devastating time and we are urging the driver of the white van to come and speak to us.

“I want to stress that we do not think this van driver was the cause of the collision, but that they may have witnessed what happened.”

Anyone with information can call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log number 2845 of 9 September.
