2018 Autosport International witness record 95,000 visitors

Organisers of the 2018 Autosport International in Birmingham on Thursday revealed a record 95,000 visitors at this year’s event.

The Autosport show, which is a curtain raiser for motorsport events in Europe, saw a 12% increase from last year’s attendance. The event took place at the National Exhibition Centre from January 11 to 14.

The major attraction has been the launch of top-tier FIA World Championship, the first in the show’s 27-year history. Four new cars for the 2018 season World Rally Championship (WRC) were launched.

These are the M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC, Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC, Toyota Gazoo Racing Yaris WRC and Citroën Racing C3 WRC.

M-Sport Ford driver and the current WRC champion Sébastien Ogier was happy to be part of the development.

He said: “It was fantastic to launch the new WRC series at Autosport International in front of so many true motorsport enthusiasts. Myself and the rest of the M-Sport team are really looking forward to Rally Monte-Carlo, later this month.”
