Appeal for witnesses after taxi driver dies in Edgbaston crash

A taxi driver has died after being involved in a hit and run in Edgbaston.

The 47-year-old was stood next to his vehicle on City Road at around 1.50am today (August 29th) when he was hit by a car that failed to stop at the scene.

Sergeant Alan Hands, from West Midlands Police, said: “At the moment we are keeping an open mind around what might have happened but we really need anyone who witnessed the collision or the lead up to it to give us a call.

“The family of the man are being supported by specialist officers at this tragic time and our thoughts remain with them.”
