Callum Lees suffered stab wounds after a dispute at a flat in Hopwas Grove, Kingshurst.

He was later found collapsed in Haselour Road by a passer-by.

In a statement, his family said: “Callum was a beautiful, caring, kind soul who was much loved.

“Everyone who knew him only had good words to say. Our world has been shattered and will never be the same again.”

Detectives have arrested a 21-year-old Solihull man on suspicion of assisting an offender.

West Midlands Police Detective Inspector Jim Munro believes there were several other people at the flat at the time of the disturbance – and has urged them to come forward.

He said: “We suspect the victim knew his attacker and efforts are well underway to find the person responsible.

“Our enquiries suggest that a group of people were drinking in the flat at the time – they need to call me immediately so we can understand exactly what happened and eliminate them from our enquiries.

“A young man has lost his life in awful circumstances and been left to die in the street.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Insp Munro on 101 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
