Appeal to trace private tutor over allegation he touched girl, 10, inappropriately in her Saltley home

Police are trying to trace a private tutor over allegations he touched a 10-year-old girl inappropriately during a lesson at her home in Saltley.

Officers say the man – who taught her between January and February – may still be operating in the Birmingham area.

Attempts to track him using the details he provided to the family have so far been unsuccessful.

The man is described as a dark skinned Asian man, tall with a beard, thinning hair and believed to be in his 30s.  He is known to usually wear a green coloured coat and may be known to some by the name of Abdul Waheed.

Detective Constable Mitchell Grainger said: “If anyone feels that this man matches the description then please contact me at your earliest opportunity.

“We would also appeal to the tutor if he is reading this appeal and recognises himself from it then please come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Grainer by emailing m.b.grainger@west-midlands.police.uk.
