Hunt for gang who carjacked woman and her baby in Solihull

A woman and her baby have been carjacked in Solihull.

The victim had stopped her grey Audi RS6 at a set of traffic lights on Lode Lane at 6pm yesterday (July 22nd) when four men pulled up in a car behind her and demanded she got out of the car.

She refused as her baby was in the back, but as she attended to the child one of the gang jumped in the driver’s seat and drove off at speed down Severn Star Road towards Warwick Road with them both onboard.

They pulled into a side road where the woman and her child escaped before the gang drove off in the car.

Detective Sergeant Stew Lewis from Force CID, said: “There were a lot of people in the area when the robbery took place and I would ask them to get in touch if they haven’t done so already.

“Luckily, the woman and her baby were not hurt but the woman is very shaken by what happened.”

The four men are described as Asian, one of them in particular is described as being around 5ft 10ins, of a stocky build with facial stubble and wearing a navy blue tracksuit. The car they were in is described as having blacked out windows.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 20SH/155401P/17.
